Activated Clotting Time

Please help me (George) learn if the ACT is used for any purpose other than monitoring high dose intravenous heparin during coronary artery bypass graft surgery, percutaneous intervention, ablations, and for monitoring protamine sulfate heparin reversal at the end of the cardiac procedure. Does anyone use the ACT for routine heparin therapy monitoring or for DOACs?

There have been publications
There have been publications showing the use of ACT for DOAC screening (Padayattil JS, et al. Point of care testing (POCT) to assess drug concentration in patients treated with non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs). Thromb Res. 2018;163:100–4.), but I have never heard of anyone using it for routine heparin monitoring or DOACs, only POCT applications such as those you mentioned.
