Aspirin and a Low Platelet Count
I received the following message from "Sumaya:" Can a patient with a low platelet count be treated with aspirin?

For example, if someone with a low platelet count finds multiple bruises or experiences nosebleeds or excessive menstrual bleeding, the physician would prohibit aspirin as it would contribute to the bleeding. Your physician is likely to make this decision at the time of a physical examination, and may also choose to investigate the cause of the low platelet count.
